Waste Types

Skip Bins are hired based on the waste type. It is important to select the correct waste type as it affects the location we transport your waste to recycle as much as possible.

Please note that items such as asbestos, flammables, silica dust, batteries, liquids like paint, aerosols, food, gas bottles, fire extinguishers are not allowed in any of our bins.

If you have large amounts of scrap metal, soil, concrete or clean fill please phone us for a price on a clean bin to help us recycle and avoid landfill.

General Waste is the most popular waste type as it allows for a variety of mixed items in the skip.

General Waste is great for general clean ups at home or office where you are disposing of items such as:

  • Old furniture
  • Office desks, chairs etc.
  • Children’s toys
  • White Goods
  • Green Waste such as leaves, branches, small trees
  • Plastics, timbers, metals
  • General domestic waste from around the home

Asbestos, flammables, silica dust, batteries, liquids like paint, aerosols, food, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, construction or heavy waste, are not allowed.

Green Waste is garden waste.

Note: Green Waste price is for domestic home owners or renters, and does not include commercial landscapers or contractors. Bins are not to be loaded with an excavator, bobcat or similar machine. Commercial landscapers and contractors are to use the commercial or construction waste type.

Allowed items in Green Waste bins include:

  • 100% garden waste only
  • Small trees
  • Branches (no more than 20cm thick)
  • Shrubs
  • Palm fronds
  • Twigs
  • Leaves
Asbestos, soil, general or construction waste types, flammables, mattresses, batteries, liquids like paint, aerosols, food, gas bottles, fire extinguishers are not allowed in any of our bins.

Construction waste is commonly generated by builders, developers and renovators in or around a work site. Skip bins are used by builders who understand and place an importance in workplace safety and their obligations with the chain of command in ensuring a safe workplace for their employees and contractors.

Common items in Construction / Heavy bins include:
